Why we made this
I kept meaning to give my dogs, Godiva and Baba Yaga, a bigger day. Not the same block and the same backyard. A real one. But life gets loud, and “someday” is a quiet little thief.

Frequently asked questions
Do I pay before the quiz?
Yes, it's one upfront price for the whole thing: the quiz, your dog's planned adventure, and the printed keepsake book. No subscription, and nothing else to buy to make it work. Optional print upgrades come later, only if you want them.
What if my dog is old, shy, or not exactly athletic?
Perfect, honestly. The day is built around your dog (their age, energy, and personality), not the other way around. The missions bend to fit a slow sniff-walk just as easily as an all-day trek. There's no dog this isn't for.
What if my photos aren't any good?
Blurry action shots are the goodest shots. You don't need a nice camera or a still dog. One quick photo at each stop is plenty, and the messy ones are usually the best ones in the book.
How long does the day take?
However long you want. It's a handful of little missions and you set the pace: a lazy couple of hours or the whole golden-hour-to-bedtime stretch. It's your day.
What if the weather turns?
The plan accounts for weather where it can, and the adventure is yours to keep. If a day gets rained out, pick it back up whenever works for you and your dog.
How does the book actually get made?
You snap (or pick) a photo at each mission. We turn those photos (and anything you add in the end-of-day quiz) into the whole day, written from your dog's point of view. When you're happy with it, you tap Print and the keepsake book ships to your door.
Do I have to order the printed book separately?
No. The printed softcover is included in the price. When your book is finished you read it, then tap “Print my book” and it ships to the address from checkout. Want a hardcover or layflat instead? Upgrade right there for just the difference. If we don't hear from you, we print the softcover automatically two weeks later so it never gets lost.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet. For now we plan adventures and ship books to US addresses only, and checkout won't accept an address outside the US. Canada and the UK are next; email hello@thegoodestday.com and we'll tell you the moment they open.
What about my privacy and my photos?
We strip EXIF and GPS location data from every photo before it's stored, and the book itself uses fuzzy geography, so your street address is never printed. We don't run facial recognition, and we never store your card details (checkout runs through Stripe). Full details in our Privacy Policy.
