The Goodest Day

Refund Policy

Last updated 2026-08-11

Draft — pending legal review; not yet legal advice. This page is a good-faith, plain-language description of how The Goodest Day actually works. It has not been reviewed or approved by a lawyer, and it is not a substitute for legal advice.

Our stance, plainly

Your book is personalized — built from your own dog’s photos and your own quiz answers — so refunds work a little differently than they would for an off-the-shelf product. What you’re owed depends on how far along your order is:

  • Order placed, payment not completed (“pending”): nothing has been charged, so there’s nothing to refund.
  • Paid, before your book has been generated or sent to print (“paid”): full refund, no questions asked. Just email us.
  • Your book has been generated and sent to print (“fulfilling”): at this point your book is a one-of-a-kind item being produced specifically for you, so refunds from here on are handled case-by-case.
  • Your book has shipped (“shipped”): same case-by-case handling. A shipped, personalized book generally can’t be resold or “returned” the way a mass-produced item can — nobody else can use a copy of your dog’s book — but we still want to make it right if something’s genuinely wrong with what you received (damaged in shipping, the wrong tier, a real production mistake, and so on).

Our satisfaction commitment

If your book isn’t right — a printing defect, a mistake we made, anything that doesn’t feel like the goodest day it should — tell us and we’ll make it right. Depending on what happened, that might be a reprint, a partial refund, or a full refund. We’d rather make it right than keep money we didn’t earn.

How to request a refund

Email hello@thegoodestday.com with your order confirmation email or your book link, and tell us what happened. Refunds are reviewed and issued manually, back to your original payment method through Stripe.

Refund window

Please reach out within [TODO: refund window] of your order or delivery if you’d like a refund. If it’s been longer than that, reach out anyway — we may still be able to help.

Upgrades

If you upgrade your book after the fact (for example, bundle to hardcover), the same pending/paid/fulfilling/shipped stages above apply to the upgrade itself — a refund request for an upgrade follows this same logic, based on how far along the upgraded book is.
